Privacy Policy
Effective October 13, 2026
This policy covers two things: the free Eterna Recorder iOS app, and the paid Eterna Legacy Voice service. Both are operated by GetPageSpeed LLC. The app on its own never sends us anything; we receive data only when you buy the paid service and send us an archive.
Eterna Recorder app
Data stays on your device
Eterna Recorder stores recordings, identity details, metadata, and hashes locally in the app container. GetPageSpeed does not collect this data.
No tracking or analytics
The app has no advertising, analytics, tracking, account, cloud-storage, or crash-reporting service. It does not send recordings or identity details to GetPageSpeed.
Microphone access
The app asks for microphone access only so you can record spoken consent and stories. You can change microphone access in iOS Settings.
Exports and sharing
You choose when and where to export or share a ZIP bundle. The bundle includes the recordings and the identity details entered in the app. After you share it, the recipient and service you choose control their copy.
Retention and deletion
Recordings remain in the app container until replaced or the app and its data are removed. Exported copies remain wherever you saved or shared them.
Eterna Legacy Voice paid service
Voice is sensitive personal data
We treat a person's voice and voice model as sensitive personal data, including as biometric data under the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act 2010 as amended in 2024. We process it only with the speaker's explicit consent, recorded aloud in the app before any story, and only to provide the service to their family.
What we collect
- The archive you send: consent and story recordings, the identity details entered in the app, and the Voice Rights Passport.
- What we create from it: transcripts, a voice model, keepsake messages, and the index used to answer questions.
- Your contact details and order history. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your full card number.
How we use it
Only to verify consent, create the voice model, keepsakes, and answers for your family, and to contact you about your order. We never sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to train voices or models for anyone else.
Where it is stored and who processes it
- Archives, transcripts, and voice models are stored on servers operated by GetPageSpeed LLC, encrypted in transit.
- Voice synthesis: Alibaba Cloud Model Studio (international region, Singapore).
- Questions and answers: Anthropic (Claude API).
- Payments: Stripe. Email: Google Workspace and Cloudflare Email Routing.
These providers process data only to perform the service for us under their business terms.
Retention
We keep the archive and voice model while your subscription is active. After cancellation we delete them within 30 days, unless you ask us to delete sooner. We keep order and payment records as required by tax law.
Your rights: deletion, access, and refunds
The speaker, or the paying family member, can at any time ask us to delete the voice model and recordings, get a copy of everything we hold and made, or correct details. Email eterna@smartycode.com. On deletion we cancel the subscription and refund pro rata: the setup fee in full if no keepsake has been delivered yet, otherwise the unused part of the current month. We confirm deletion within 30 days.
Security incidents
If a breach affects your data, we notify you and the relevant authority as required by law, including within 72 hours where Singapore's PDPA applies.
Children
Eterna is not directed to children. The app does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, and the paid service only accepts consent recorded by adults.
